Hello Community and Friends:
With December here, its that time of the month going Christmas🌲Tree shopping, trimming the tree with family and friends, enjoying the time together.
If you have bought a live tree, we ask you to please keep your tree watered constantly, make sure any lights are cool touch style and the wiring is sound. Please do not overload outlets or extention cords, and keep the tree away from heat sources (fireplaces, wood stoves, candles, etc)
Enjoy your days with family and friends leading up to Santa's visit. Stay Safe 🎅🤶A dry Christmas tree quickly goes up in flames. (Video by US Consumer Product Safety Commission) ... See MoreSee Less

Sunday 07 Dec 1941
On this date, on a peaceful Sunday morning our country was cowardly attacked by the Imperial Japanese Forces @ Naval Station Pearl Harbor, Army Air Stations Hickam and Wheeler Fields, Naval Air Station Ford Island, Barber's Point.
Our Great Republic was thrust into the 2nd World War as a result and with it arose the industrial, military, and civilian might of our people. The "Sleeping Giant" would not fall but prevail in this 2nd (and hopefully last) World War.
May we always remember 07 Dec 1941 and the brave men and woman who fell on that Sunday morning 78yrs ago.
Lastly but certainly not least, nine Honolulu Fire Department firefighters responding to Army Air Station Hickam during the bombing died becoming the only fire department on American soil to be attacked by a foreign power in history.
Additionally six firefighters were wounded. The wounded later received Purple Hearts for their peacetime heroism that day. This made the nine men the only non-military firefighters to receive such award in U.S. history.

On this Monday 11 November 2019 the Eddystone Fire Company extends our sincere thanks and appreciation to our military veterans who signed on the dotted line, and stood tall for our Great Republic. From the Battle of Lexington & Concord to the sands of Syria.
Thank you Veterans for the service and sacrifice that you have made in the past, and thank you to those still standing tall for us all.

On Wednesday 23 October 2019, students from Eddystone Elementary School practiced their evacuation drill and fire prevention activities for Fire Prevention Awareness Month.
Each class went over the importance of fire safety and to check their smoke detectors monthly and develop a plan for escape at home.
We had special guests, Ember and Oakley on hand to greet the students.
Ember showed the children how to crawl low in smoke and Oakley showed them how to stop drop and roll.
We also had a contest for the kids to guess how many spots Ember has.
Today Wednesday 30 October we returned to the school and presented Savanna Rooney a gift and her 5th grade class a box of munchkins. While many kids had the same number of 300, Savanna came in solely with 302. Congratulations Savanna on your contest win.
As always it is a pleasure working with the Eddystone Elementary School on Fire Prevention and Safety every October. We look forward to seeing you all again next year. ... See MoreSee Less

The Eddystone Fire Company participated in the Ridley High School Homecoming Parade.
The youth of Eddystone Borough have attended the Ridley School District since 1966 when the Eddystone High School was disbanded and the youth were transferred into the newly formed Ridley School District.
The Eddystone Elementary School is still on the property of the old Eddystone High School campus and enrolls students from Eddystone Borough and the Crum Lynne section of Ridley Twp.
The Ridley Green Raiders Football Team beat Harriton 61-14 in the Homecoming game.
The Green Raiders are seeded 11th in the PIAA District One 6A.
Good luck in the playoffs
GO MEAN GREEN MACHINE!!!!!!!
DID YOU KNOW???
Since the 1966 merger of Eddystone, Ridley Twp, and Ridley Park into one unified school district the Ridley High School Varsity Football Team has NEVER had a losing (below .500) season.
